Flower Language (September 3rd-4th, 2021)

Language of Flowers (1884) by Kate Greenaway

This book is part of the public domain, and you can easily find it online. Part of me feels that I should have searched for public domain books sooner. It is essentially a long list of flowers with their meanings. Kate Greenaway includes drawings, but they're not of the flowers. For a free book, I'm not disappointed. Maybe soon I'll compile images of each flower, their meaning, and the reference where I found it into my own database. I am also interested into medicinal herbs, so I will be looking at books related to that another time.  

Floriography (2020) by Jessica Roux

I like this book a lot. This is not just a list of meanings, but Roux also includes drawings, origin of the meaning, and flowers to pair them with. When pairing a flower with another, it can create a new meaning. I think it's a great addition. The PDF version of the book is best viewed in the two page view, so you can see the flower next to the meaning, origin, and pairing.
